So Adya, tell me a little about yourself and how you got into modeling
I originally got into modeling as a joke - since im 4'8", my friend bet i would never model. So to prove her wrong, i joined model mayhem!
HAHA!! And did you have fun throwing it back in her face?I loved throwing it in her face - especially because she joined a few months after, trying to get modeling jobs!
Nice. So what was your first modeling experience like?
Insane. I brought a friend along with me, as i was 17 at the time. The shoot was in a huge studio in NYC. There was a girl shooting before me - so i was waiting for her to finish. I thought they were usingĀ a dog in the shoot, as they kept saying "good boy, good boy!" and what not....Well, when they were done, turns out they were shooting with a chimpanzee!
That's pretty crazy. Did you get to shoot with the chimp? Not for the photoshoot, but my friend and i took a few candids with him!
What did you shoot that day? What was your first impression of being in front of the camera? The shoot itself was very basic - simple shoot with a school desk, and a fan to blow my hair half over my face. It was a lot of fun - I had a blast!
Awesome. Were you nervous that first time?
A little bit - but not too much.
What would you say has been the craziest or the weirdest experience you ever had while modeling (that you can talk about)Craziest without a doubt was doing a shoot involving slime. By the end of the shoot I was covered in it!
Wow. Like ghostbusters slime? That must have been pretty gross. What was that all about? It was a random idea the photographer had. She thaught white slime would look neat on camera - almost like i was melting
That's pretty weird. How did you take it?It was fine - it was a neat idea, so i was all for it!
Sounds like you'll try just about anything for an awesome shot. What do you enjoy most about shooting with photographers? The shared creativity. Its nice to work with people who have a great vision.
Let's talk about vision. If you could make any kind of photoshoot happen, any idea, absolutely no limitations of any kind... what would you want it to be? describe it for me.I would love to do a photomanipulation series with horses - Pegasus, Unicorn, Unipeg, Seahorse, etc.
What's the best part and what's the worst part about being a short model?
Best part: seeing reactions of people when they see me in person "OH MY GOD, YOU ARE TINY!" I love it.
Worst part: seeing all the castings for tall models - 5'8 and up, etc.
Totally, without a doubt.
Awesome. So now that you've done a few sets with Razor Fantasy, what would you like to shoot next with us?Blood, guts and gore baby. I want a zombie shoot, here and now! It totally has to be complete with zombie stuffed animals, random dead bodies, etc.
Fan-fucking-tastic. We'll have to set that up. Thanks for chatting with us!You're welcome!
