The Sasha Grey Experience / Violet Blue

Sasha Grey in 2007 Steven Soderbergh did a lot of unpredictable things with his new film "The Girlfriend Experience." At the January Sundance sneak preview of the film he projected a 1080p reduction of the file, then a "work in progress." This week he released it on Amazon as a video on demand rental before it hits theaters on May 22. Steampunk Aesthetics: Jake Von Slatt

The legendary Jake von Slatt talks about his obsessions with the Steampunk lifestyle.

One of my favorite parts of the video describes why I love Steampunk and something that really resonates with Razor Fantasy: "Steampunk is a DIY ethic. Do it yourself, celebrate the mechanics of something, creat a situation that you really know the INs and OUTs of."

From the video:

"Steampunk is a mashup of modern and historical elements... It's the way the past should have been, the way we wish it was. I've often described it as the intersection of Romance and Technology."

King Shot Now in Production!

Marylin Manson as The Pope

Twitch Film is reporting that Alejandro Jodrowsky's "King Shot" will finally get started this summer:

It’s been a long, long time coming and while it’s not yet here we finally have some firm news on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s long rumored King Shot.  Despite having Marilyn Manson and Nick Nolte on board to star - and both of them putting up some of their own money for the production - the film remained stalled for several years until David Lynch’s Absurda came on board as a production outfit - they’re also doing a film with Werner Herzog - a little while back.  And now?  Cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond appeared on Chicago’s WGN Radio recently to promote an unrelated project and spilled to a caller that he expects to be shooting King Shot from May to July of this year.  So take heart, cult film fans, the cultiest of them all is coming back.
